Walk-in/Skype interview for Project Assistant under INSPIRE Faculty Scheme grant funded by Department of Science and Technology, India
Project Title: Sheaves over schemes and their cohomology.
Project Details: The broad proposal is to investigate sheaf cohomology of schemes and their applications. We plan to investigate problems related to computation of sheaf cohomology of certain schemes and understanding when they vanish. Applications to Riemann surfaces are of particular interest. Some aspects of derived categories and derived functors will also be investigated.
Duration: 6 months
Emoluments: Consolidated salary of Rs. 15,000 per month.
Essential Qualifications: M.A. /M.Sc. in Pure Mathematics with excellent academic record.
The candidate should have keen interest in Algebraic Geometry and a strong background in master's level algebraic topology, differential geometry and commutative algebra. Candidates with basic knowledge of algebraic varieties will be preferred. Mere possession of essential qualifications alone do not warrant shortlisting of the candidate.
