Applications are invited for one post of project assistant under Ramanujan fellowship of DST. (No. of posts = 1)

BROAD TOPIC: Ultrafast quantum dynamics

QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc. in Physics

DURATION: 6 months (extendable up to 12-months based on the

              performance).

SALARY: As per DST rules

DESCRIPTION: Candidates with experience and interest in areas of ultrafast laser physics and atomic and molecular physics will be  preferred. He/She should have some exposure to laser physics, femtosecond lasers, atomic and molecular physics. The candidate should work on developing an experimental  setup which will require skills such as vacuum technology, data analysis,  image processing etc. Familiarity with softwares like Mathematica Fortran and data plotting softwares will be preferred.  The project can also involve some numerical simulations studies of  the atomic systems subjected to intense pulses.

The candidate should be self-motivated for driving the research  project. In addition, he/she is required to participate in routine  maintenance of the laboratory. The acedemic performance of the  candidate will be evaluated after every three months for continuation of  the position.
