Walk-in or skype interview for the post of a Project Assistant in a research project funded by the Wellcome Trust/DBT intermediate fellowship

Title: Cloning, expression and purification of mammalian proteins involved in cell-adhesion

This project aims to clone, express and purify long-chain molecules involved in cell-adhesion for structural and biophysical studies

We are an interdisciplinary research group who use single molecule techniques to understand biology quantitatively. To know more about our research interests, please visit our web-page.

Positions: One

Duration: One year and extendable up to 2 years upon evaluation. Candidates may need to travel to Germany for using Synchrotron facilities.

Emoluments: As per IISER Mohali

Essential Qualifications:

The applicants should hold a master degree in Biological /Physical Sciences/Bioengineering/Biotechnology, and have a strong training in cloning, protein expression, and purification. Additional weightage will be given to candidates having expertise on protein expression in mammalian/ insect cell-lines and functionality studies. Expertise in FPLC, GEL-electrophoresis, CD are highly desirable. It is also essential that the candidates have strong interests in learning some of the state-of-the art single molecule techniques we routinely perform in lab using AFM and fluorescence microscope. Interested applicants should email the completely filled application form attached here and a 1-page cover letter (describing their past accomplishments, research interests and career goals in three paragraphs) to:
